Cia. Trupe Toe’s “Recriando Linguagens”

This full length show marked my first time performing as a tap dancer in a professional company, even if as an understudy. With live music, the soundtrack featured Brazilian rhythms samba, maracatu, bossa nova, samba de partido alto, choro and baião, and the tap dance complemented the music rhythmically. The show explored a conversation between cultures, traditions and what is considered popular, portraying a Brazilian urban scene rich in music and dance.
I was an understudy in Cia. Trupe Toe from 2014 to 2018 which made me improve my tap dance technique tremendously. The company’s choreography was created by Charles Renato, Leonardo Sandoval and Marina Coura, and required high technique skills and keen musical perception. I performed with the company at Floripa Tap Festival (2014, 2016, 2018) and other local events in Florianópolis.
